Introducing Online Giving

Although online giving has been around for a while and available here at Saint Rose, it really has not been promoted or encouraged as well as it could. Saint Rose of Lima has now enlisted a new company called Parish Giving to provide you with the opportunity to use Electronic Funds Transfer as an alternative method for giving. The program is free of charge for parishioners. Parish Giving allows you to donate a recurring contribution that is automatically transferred from your checking or savings account, or even credit card, on a monthly basis, and you select your own billing date. This program can be utilized for your Sunday contributions, as well as any Holy Day Collection and all diocesan collections.

The use of EFT is not only time saving and convenient for you, but also allows our Parish to realize a more consistent level of support. By signing up for Parish Giving, you will know that you are doing your part to support the Parish even at times you are not able to be physically present to celebrate with the Parish Community. I strongly urge you to consider this method of contributing to Saint Rose of Lima and help us fulfil our mission of spreading the Gospel.

Please see the flyer inserted in today's bulletin for more information and how to sign up.

God bless,

Father Joseph Byerley

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father" (Matthew 5:43-44)

We are told very clearly by Christ in the above Gospel passage to love our enemies. There really isn't any way around such an explicit command of the Lord. I think this command to love our enemy is made even more binding upon hearing also the words of Jesus as he hangs, dying on the Cross, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." The followers of Jesus have no choice but to love their enemies.
