In honor of Mary, Mother of Mercy
There will be opportunities throughout the day for people to prayerfully explore the
Basilica of the National Shrine
and learn about it’s rich history. This is a specially designated Holy Door for the Jubilee Year of Mercy which pilgrims are invited to pass through. The Sacrament of Penance will be offered in the morning and the entire day will be comprised of events such as a concert of sacred music, the Holy Rosary, and the always memorable Procession of Parishes in the up- per church. Parish Organizations such as the Legion of Mary, Holy Name Society, or any other group are also welcome to bring their banner and process with the parishes that they are affiliated with.
The highlight and conclusion of the Pilgrimage will be the celebration of Mass in the Great Upper Church at which Bishop Sullivan will be the main celebrant. Pilgrims may begin arriving from 9:30am and the departure time will be after mass concludes at 4pm.
Additional information regarding bus transportation and event schedule will be published in the bulletin in the upcoming weeks.
If you would like to help out by being part of the pilgrimage committee, please contact at the rectory office.
